Hello all,
I am currently an independent consultant for a company based in Massachusetts. However, I do ALL of the work remotely in California. The employer did withhold anything. Do I still have to pay MA state income tax, or do I only pay California state taxes?
Thanks in advance!

Our tax refund in the winter of 2007 wasn’t enough to cover the 2006 bill. So we figured we would just have to save on our own. Well that didn’t happen.

Eli Doron, adv. – Yaron Tikitzky, adv. (c.p.a) The relevant law dealing with Cyprus’s corporate law is the Cyprus Companies Law, cap. 113. This code is actually an almost identical adoption of the English Companies Act of 1948. As a matter of fact, the English Act has been identically adopted at first, and only later has been modified to a certain extent. The main modifications are attempting to homogenize the Cyprus law and the European Union law. Therefore, the Cyprus corporate code has both European-Continental and English-Common Law characteristics. After the 2001 …

After the United States declared its independence and fought the Revolutionary War, the U.S. Congress relied on excise taxes on alcohol, tobacco and a few other products for revenue to pay off its war debts. These taxes were not popular and led to the Whiskey Rebellion during the administration of George Washington. The U.S. instituted direct taxes on real property, estates, and slaves, taxes which Thomas Jefferson abolished in 1802. The U.S. relied solely on excise taxes for a few more years until they were repealed in 1817. At that …
